Donation
The Korea Brain Bank is operating a brain donation program with the Korea Brain Bank Network (KBBN) to identify the exact cause of neurological disorders and develop treatments, diagnoses, and prevention methods.
The brain donation program is conducted with the consent of the individual (brain donation hope registration) or bereaved family members (postmortem brain donation registration) in accordance with Act on Corpse Dissection and Preservation.

The brain bank fully explains the following to donors through the donation explanation

  • Significance and Overview of Brain Bank
  • Withdrawal of donation, matters handled by brain research resources upon withdrawal
  • Scope, collection methods and handling of donated brain research resources
  • Preservation, management and disposal of brain research resources
  • Scope of researchers and institutions to which brain research resources will be provided
  • Protection and processing of personal information, etc.
  • Matters regarding disclosure if information on the health of the bereaved family is included in the information analyzed through brain research resources
